The new Div 296 $3m tax on earnings in a superannuation fund is scheduled to come into effect from 1 July 2025. Clients just want to know the practical impact on them, and if there are strategies to minimise the impact of the tax.
The Managing the outcome of Div 296 webinar walks you through real life case studies that demonstrate not only how the new super tax applies in practice, but the myriad of practical and planning issues that need to be addressed. And, time is of the essence to work with clients to manage the implication of the tax - what your clients do in 2024-25 will have an impact.
We walk through a range of common scenarios exploring funds with liquidity issues, volatile assets, and how the death of a spouse could expose the client to the Div 296 tax. We also consider scenarios where some clients may be better off moving some of their superannuation funds to other structures/investment.
And, we’ll help you with the timing issues to ensure that your clients have adequate time to manage the impact of the tax.
