The sessions will consist of a tax update and special topic.

Attendees will be updated on recent tax issues and learn about the practical impact of recent tax changes. You’ll also learn how to apply the changes in a client context and discover how to recognise planning opportunities as a result.

The sessions will also provide a practical and detailed analysis of a topical area of tax law or practice.

Brian Kamenetzky

Senior Tax Trainer, TaxBanter

Brian has more than 30 years’ experience as a professional tax trainer. He practised as a barrister in South Africa at the Johannesburg Bar before moving to Australia in 1986. He was formerly the National Tax Education director at Deloitte and at Ernst & Young before joining Webb Martin Training in 1998.

During his time at Webb Martin Training, Brian delivered more than 5,000 sessions Australia wide, in capital cities and regionally to public accountants in practice and commerce. Brian joined Cyntax in 2007, and made the move to Taxbanter in July 2011. To date, Brian has delivered more than 8,000 training sessions. His colourful presentation style, combined with his extensive knowledge of tax and enthusiastic delivery, ensures high-quality sessions. The accounting profession recognises Brian as a leading tax trainer.

Roelof Van Der Merwe

Senior Tax Trainer, TaxBanter

Just before joining TaxBanter as Senior Tax Trainer, Roelof was the National Tax Director of two top 10 firms in Australia for about a decade.  Prior to that, Roelof gained experience in Big 4 and other mid-tier firms. He has over 19 years experience  delivering practical tax and consulting services in Australia.

Roelof’s passion is to help ensure our clients stay up-to-date with the latest developments by interpreting technical tax information in a practical and relevant manner. He has experience on a wide variety of complex tax related topics and has the ability to identify, understand and clearly communicate how the tax law may impact business transactions and taxpayers.

Craig McCormick

General Manager, TaxBanter

Craig is an experienced finance and management professional with a background in leading high performance teams and driving business performance. He is responsible for leading the Taxbanter business across its Australian national operations which covers every state and territory and major regional centres.

Craig’s prior experience includes a national leadership role with a large mid-tier accounting group and CFO roles with high growth companies and management roles with large global listed groups.

Outside of work, Craig is a volunteer surf lifesaver and enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also participates in triathlons and distance running.
